Blooming plagues
Visual posters
Scope: Concept Art / Art Direction / Design
Like a seed that's deep-rooted in, our plagues bloom and spread it's spores till we are swallowed by them. The marks they left wont be forgotten.
< Blooming Plagues > started as an assignment in Ms. Uot Mi's creative class, the brief was to use floral to describe or translate illnesses. I then took a step further to make experimental posters series out of this brief.
The pain tore through their abdomen, left a gaping rupture from which grew the spiky piercing vines. The vines squeezed them like a python crushing its prey.
DAY 1
STOMACH
-ACHE
All it takes was a scream, a scent, a glimpse and there they were, living in that moment again, frozen in fear, trembling and choking with their breaths.
As they tried so hard to focus on the present, they failed and drifted miserably down the rabbit hole.
"I'm not there anymore, I'm here, it can't hurt me anymore, I'm through with it" - they tried to convince themselves, but words soon became jumbles, whispers became mumbles... Until all became dead silence.
Then came chaos, then came havoc as the present left them, the moment swallowed them like a hungry black-hole.
The moment was an eternal trap and it waits to swallow again.
Till they were but a hollow husk.
DAY 2
PANIC
ATTACK
There are times when they'd feel like drowning, like their body wasn't even theirs. Their body was an anvil and their concious drifted like rotten logs.
The world, or at least their perception of it, had never been this disoriented and perturbed before.
Though, there was one thing that was clear: pain.
The pain in their chest, the pain in their head, in their whole body and mind, that suffocating pain was the only thing that was explicit to them.
It was as if the air solified and clasped them, crushed them in the process.

And they drowned, on drought they drowned.
DAY 3
DEPRESS
-ION
Like hellfire it blazed through their throat. With every breath they took, its piercing petals tore its ways to their eye sockets and explode their skull with gorgeous yet deadly full bloom.
DAY 4
THROAT
SORE
